Douglas Harding developed a simple method for seeing that you are a timeless awareness without boundary. The method needs no preparation, takes only a few minutes, and is compatible with any kind of belief system. Harding explained his insight in different ways over the years, but this is probably my favourite of all his books.
I have read all of Douglas's books, and this may be my favorite, It is funny profound, and logical. It is not so much a teaching as it is a pointing to your true nature. The other reviewer has missed the point entirely, Douglas never said anything about belief and as C.S. Lewis said in the introduction to one of Harding's books, it is wisdom of the highest nature.
Difficult to describe this book. If you have been seeking for long time this may be the one, maybe not. It will all depend on your background, memory and environment.

To me this one was special. I've read Ramana Maharsi, Nissargadatta, and many others from the non dual tradition. I have not been lucky to be born on a place where I can be in the presence of a true master, so reading books has been my only chance to try to find clues about who I really am and how to search.

Douglas Harding is not only a genius but a person who found what he was looking for and devoted his life to communicate to others.

The title of the book is misleading, the "stress" is a kind of excuse to apply what he teaches in this book every day the deph of this work is inmense and goes beyond stress and beyond his most famous book "On having no head".

This is powerful, practical and designed to apply on a day by day basis, in the middle of work and life miseries. This is not a book about meditation or minfulness but the real essence of our life and the Universe , the Void and the Source.

Look for yourself.

Great book... very insightful
Very excited to read this book, Douglas Harding was a genius.
This book elucidates the "meaning" of "Seeing" what we really are and the implications that truly knowing or Seeing(being) ourselves has in day to day living. You'll know why i capitalize seeing if you do the "headless" experiments that are the substance of Douglas Harding's message. Profound. Highly recommended, as with all his books.
